Hold On 03:14
HOLD ON When you’re living and you’re coming down You’re feeling nauseous Yea you hear that sound All those people yea they stop and stare Losing you’re mind, pulling out you’re hair How did you get here? Why are you all alone? All I’m trying to say to you You gotta hold on Hold on Son, I’m trying to say to you You gotta shine on Shine on When you’re here out and you’re on the edge Carry on bouncing yea in your head All these people yea they just don’t know The future bright stay on your toes How did you get here? Why are you all alone? Did even wonder or are you better off staying at home What I’m trying to say to you You gotta hold on Hold on Son, I’m trying to say to you You gotta shine on Shine on All I’m trying to say to you You gotta hold on Hold on Son, I’m trying to say to you You gotta shine on Shine on All I’m trying to say to you You gotta hold on Hold on Son, I’m trying to say to you You gotta shine on Shine on Shine on Shine, shine on

TRUTH DON’T SHOCK Back in time, in ’81 Father’s lost a mother son Violence reigns on wooden thrones We burn them down, we load the guns As the DJ plays those forgotten no’1’s The hands that built despite your laws To read your papers, fight your wars To keep the peace despite the cause The future came You found it all As the DJ had you lined up against the wall Are you ready? To get nasty Are you ready? To get let out The truth don’t shock me now The truth don’t stop me now The truth don’t stop me now The truth don’t shock me now You're gonna be the bigger man You're gonna be the bigger man I’m walking through a zombie land A mother’s son A soldier lost Who never knew the rising cost Parlour games in parlour slums Played it out for ones that we love For the ones that we love Are you ready? To get nasty Are you ready? To get let out The truth don’t shock me now Truth don’t stop me now Truth don’t stop me now Truth don’t shock me now You're gonna be the bigger man You're gonna be the bigger man You're walking through a zombie land Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Hey, eh, eh, eh, eh Hey, eh, eh, eh, eh Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland Hey, eh, eh, eh, eh Hey, eh, eh, eh, eh Zombieland, zombieland, zombieland, zombieland

about

Marquis Drive’s ‘Proud’ EP on Fretsore Records brings together 4 of their past singles on one limited edition release on translucent orange vinyl.

Formed under a wandering star somewhere next to a Wetherspoons the 7-piece indie band are born of a mutual love of football, clobber, and of course great music. They boast a truly epic sound; big guitars, big vocals and big percussion.

Having built up a strong reputation up and down the country supporting major acts such as; Ocean Colour Scene, The Farm, Reverend and the Makers, The Wonder Stuff and many more, Marquis Drive have delighted crowds with a set crammed-full of powerhouse indie anthems.

The first track ‘Proud’ was released on 29th February 2020 with Creation23 records, it reached number 2 in the official vinyl charts. John Kennedy and Chris Moyles of Radio X are fans of the track, with Moyles playing it on the morning show.
